Legal
Privacy policy
Last updated: 7 October 2026
This policy explains what personal data the tek-insight.com website collects, why, and what you can do about it. We keep it to the minimum we need.
1. Who we are
The data controller is Tekinsight — Information Technologies, Unipessoal, Lda., a company registered in Portugal.
For anything related to your personal data, email us at info@tek-insight.com.
This policy covers this website only. Our mobile apps (Memorex, Slidox, Guia TV Portugal and the apps we build for clients) have their own privacy policies, linked from their App Store and Google Play pages.
2. What we collect and why
When you use the contact form
We receive your name, email address, company (if you give it), the type of project you select and your message.
We use them only to reply to you and to discuss the project you wrote about. The legal basis is taking steps at your request before a possible contract, and our legitimate interest in answering enquiries (Article 6(1)(b) and (f) GDPR). We never add you to a mailing list or use your details for marketing.
To keep spam out, the form is protected by Cloudflare Turnstile. When the page loads, it checks your browser for signs of automated activity using technical information such as your IP address and browser characteristics. It doesn't use cookies to track you and the result is only used to tell people from bots. Our server also keeps a short-lived count of messages per IP address, stored as a one-way hash and covering only the last hour, to stop repeated abuse. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in protecting the site and our inbox (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR).
When you visit the site
Like any web server, ours records basic technical information about each request: your IP address, the page requested, the date and time, and your browser type. We use these logs only to keep the site secure and working (legitimate interest, Article 6(1)(f) GDPR).
Analytics, only if you accept
If you click Accept in the cookie banner, we use Google Analytics to understand how the site is used: which pages are visited, how visitors arrive, and roughly where they are and what device they use. This uses cookies and a random identifier, not your name or email. The legal basis is your consent (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR), which you can withdraw at any time.
If you don't accept, no analytics cookies are set. Google may still receive basic, cookieless signals (for example, that a page was viewed) which cannot be linked to you across visits.
3. Cookies
We only use the following. Analytics cookies are set only after you accept them.
| Name | Provider | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
tk-consent | This site (browser storage) | Remembers your cookie choice. Strictly necessary. | 12 months |
tk-lang | This site (browser storage) | Remembers the language you picked, only if you switch language. Functional. | Until you clear it |
_ga | Google Analytics | Distinguishes visitors. Analytics, with consent only. | 2 years |
_ga_ZK8RL894J5 | Google Analytics | Keeps track of the current session. Analytics, with consent only. | 2 years |
You can change your choice at any time: . Rejecting removes the Google Analytics cookies from your browser.
4. Who receives your data
We don't sell your data or share it with anyone for their own marketing. We use a few service providers to run the site:
- OVH SAS (France): hosts the website and its server logs, and relays contact-form emails.
- Cloudflare, Inc.: provides Turnstile, the spam check on the contact form.
- Google: delivers contact-form messages to our mailbox (Gmail), and, if you consent, provides Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager.
Google and Cloudflare may process data in the United States. Google LLC and Cloudflare, Inc. are certified under the EU–U.S. Data Privacy Framework, which the European Commission recognises as providing adequate protection.
5. How long we keep it
- Contact messages: for as long as we're discussing your enquiry, and up to 2 years after our last contact. If you become a client, we keep what the law requires us to keep, such as invoices.
- Server logs: for a short period for security and troubleshooting, then deleted automatically.
- Google Analytics data: up to 14 months, after which Google deletes it automatically.
6. Your rights
Under the GDPR you can ask us to:
- give you a copy of the personal data we hold about you;
- correct it if it's wrong;
- delete it;
- restrict or object to how we use it;
- send it to you or another company in a portable format.
Where we rely on your consent, you can withdraw it at any time; this doesn't affect anything done before. To exercise any of these rights, email info@tek-insight.com. We'll reply within one month.
If you're unhappy with how we handle your data, you can complain to the Portuguese data protection authority, the Comissão Nacional de Proteção de Dados (CNPD).
7. Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle personal data, we'll update this page and the date at the top.
